Josh Lee
CEO & President
Josh has 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. His experience in semiconductor spans from leading logical/physical design teams, creating/managing IP business unit, forging a semiconductor manufacturing services business, establishing a fab-less business with tier-1 display manufacturer, and spearheading AI-SoC innovative technologies and team. He received his EECS from UC Berkeley.
Sam Kim
Chief Operating Officer
Sam brings more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry to Uniquify. He created $20+ million design services business managing technical teams as well as overseeing business front. His technical expertise and business acumen led a display processor product group to develop multiple products that has gone into production volume with the world’s leader in display panel. He also managed a multi-million dollar semiconductor IP business unit. Prior to Uniquify, Sam held the positions of senior manager of ASIC design at Vitesse Semiconductor, and senior manager of physical design at Adeptec, Inc. Prior to his senior management roles, Sam was the manager of R&D for Monterey Design Systems. Sam is a recognized expert in VLSI algorithm, CAD and physical design. Sam received his BS in Computer Science from Northwestern University.
Mahesh Gopalan
VP, DDR IP Division
Mahesh has over 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. Ever since joining Uniquify close to its inception in 2005, he has played a leadership role in the architecture and development of Uniquify’s entire range of DDR IP solutions including memory controllers, phys and IOs targeting a wide range of industries and applications. He has extensive experience with the entire spectrum of IP development, integration, customer support and silicon bring-up activities at Uniquify from the earliest generation of SDRAMs to the current generation of mainstream DDR3/DDR4 SDRAMs and low power LPDDR3/LPDDR4 SDRAMs. Prior to Uniquify, Mahesh worked at Adaptec and Platys Communications in similar areas, and also gained experience in the development of network protocol processing engines and associated firmware. He has an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee.
JH Chen
VP, Process Technology
With 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, JH has acquired a diverse skill set and breadth of knowledge in device design, DRAM design, circuit verification, physical verification, foundry process, physical design, and manufacturing operations. Prior to becoming one of the senior managing directors at Uniquify, JH also held the position of Design Service Director at Global Foundries and Chartered Semiconductor. In addition to his managing roles, JH has experiences working in different engineering positions at Vanguard Semiconductor, Taiwan and Electronics Research & Service Organization, Taiwan. JH received his BS in Electrical Engineering from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan and his MS in Electrical Engineering from National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan.
Naoki Sasada
General Manager, Japan
Naoki has nearly 50 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. He has been engaged in this field since his graduation from Tamagawa University, Tokyo, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Prior to Uniquify, Naoki served as COO at Premier Technologies and Arcadia Design System. He was also a Director at Mentor Graphics Japan and a Division Manager at Marubeni Hi-Tech Corporation.
Jiwon Lee
VP, SoC Engineering
Jiwon has over 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. Prior to Uniquify, Jiwon served as VP of R&D at Samsung Electronics Co. He successfully developed and commercialized various mobile communication base station modems including CDMA, WCDMA, WiBro, and LTE. He received his BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering at Yonsei University, Korea.
S. Michael Lee
General Counsel
Prior to joining Uniquify as General Counsel, Michael worked at the law firm of Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch in its IP and Complex Litigation team. He was also a prosecutor in the Consumer Protection team and in the White Collar Crime team at the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office. Before the District Attorney’s Office, Michael worked as an employment law associate at the Peterson Law firm in Costa Mesa, California. He graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law and received a Baccalaureate with Honors in Political Science from UC Berkeley.
